Hello Summer!

Hello Summer!

It's been a long, cold winter and things are finally heating up!  To kick it off, we've created a 2018 Summer playlist, filled with upbeat summer rhythms and positive vibes.

The playlist is available via Apple Music or YouTube and features hot new summer tracks.

Notably, we've included a tropical mix of the track Wear Sunscreen, originally released by Baz Luhrman, in 1999.  The lyrics were written by Mary Schmidt as a commencement speech essay, published in the Chicago Tribune in 1997, entitled:  "Advice, like youth, probably just wasted on the young".

In 1999, I was 13 and graduating grade 8.  The advice dispensed in this essay has stuck with me through the years, while specific nuggets have helped served as important reminders through some difficult times.

"Enjoy your body. Use it every way you can. Don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it. It’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own."

Your body truly is the greatest instrument you'll ever own and its so important to head into summer fierce and fearless.  Please don't miss out on some of life's greatest moments because your summer wardrobe doesn't fit, or your thighs have a few more dimples than last summer.  In the long run, these things don't matter.  What matters is that you continue to live the best life you can without fear of judgment, from others and yourself.  My greatest wish is that we could all love ourselves a little more and care about what others think a little less.

This is the original version with lyrics - if you add the playlist, be sure to listen till the end, the tropical version is the last track.

Last years summer playlist has been updated on Apple Music and features a wide variety of summer jams, both new and old.

Wishing you a body positive day and summer!  Remember, every body is a beach body and you are always beach body ready!

XOXO - Candice
